You’re probably wondering: what’s a good SAT score, and how do you ace it?

 First of all, SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. SAT is used as an entrance exam by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.

A good SAT score is on the range of 1200-1400+ points. However, to attain this range is not that easy. Each section of the SAT is scored on a 200-800 points. The highest possible score is 1600 I call it the Genius score. 😊

What does SAT cover?

So, what do you except to find on those papers? Well there are four sections: Reading, Writing, Language and Math. Simple right?

Why do I need to Take the SAT?

You’ll almost certainly need to take SAT or ACT to get into a college or university in the United states. It is definitely a requirement when applying to college/university. Mostly you are required to score at least 50% so a strong score is much advised. Additionally, several states like Michigan, require all high school juniors to take SAT.

The Purpose of SAT is to measure a high school student’s readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.

Where can you take your SAT? 

In the US SAT are usually offered in High schools, colleges and Universities. To find a test center near you, you can search the college Board’s Online center Locator or you can register on the College Board Portal.

When can you take the SAT?

Most SAT are taken during the spring of the student junior Year or the fall of their senior year. It is advisable to register early and leave time to re-take the test if needed. It is also advisable to start preparing early and get a tutor. Oh yes! If you want to want a Genius score then consider an SAT tutor.

Which Schools Accepts SAT?

Almost all colleges in the US accepts SAT. Am using the term almost because recently, some colleges and universities are considering other unique, flexible policies, so make sure to check with the school you are planning to apply.  US Students looking to apply to schools in Canada, UK are also required to take SAT or ACT.

Everything you need to plan for SAT

“I Have no Idea what to expect” This is not a phrase you want running through your mind. Trust me, it’s scary but the only secret is to be prepared. Besides normal studying there are other things you can do to prepare.

  1. Register early. When you register early, you get ample time to study and re-take your exams.
  2. Start studying early. Don’t wait the last minute to study.
  3. Look for the best Study guide. This are available everywhere, online and in school libraries.
  4. Get help. Find a tutor or register for out-of-school programs. One of the best school for this is Parinama academy
  5. Track your progress with practice tests.
  6. Focus on your weakness; Look for patterns on your practice score and practice on those areas.
  7. Find ways to get motivated- Focus on what you want you want to achieve.
