Introduction

Elephants are mammals,  and the largest existing land animal. There are three different species of elephants that are recognized: The African forest Elephant , The African Bush Elephant, and The Asian Elephant.

What Do Elephant Eat ?

Under natural conditions elephant eat mostly grass, tree leaves, flowers, wild fruit, twigs, shrubs, bamboo, and bananas. Their main food is grass when its available , along with some leaves. Adult elephants can eat between 200 – 600 pounds a day. Elephants can also drink up to 50 gallons of water a day.
