Puzzles and Riddles Event Study Guide – Grades K to 2

Overview & Format:

Rounds: There are two rounds:

  • “What Am I?” Riddles: You listen to or read clues about an object, animal, or thing and guess what it is.
  • Number Riddles: You solve puzzles about numbers by following clues about digits, shapes, and other simple math.

 

Sample Questions:

  1. Word Riddle Example (“What Am I?”):
    I have a face and two hands, but I never wave. I help you know what time it is. What am I?

          (Answer: A clock)

 

  1. Number Riddle Example:
    I am an even number and the smallest even number. What number am I?”

          (Answer: 2)

 

Preparation Tips:

  • Read and Listen Carefully: Listen to each clue or read it slowly.
  • Think About the Clues: Focus on descriptive words that tell you what something does or how it looks.
